Very difficult to use compared to others. Lots of margin for error. Routes send me back to origin, wanting me to U turn, maybe user error. Very difficult to use on the go. Massive data usage for some reason. Nice program though just not for me at this time. Just looking for downloadable maps and good re-routes on the fly, endless waypoints and easy in use edits. I’ll check back in the future. Customer support is responsive
I’ve downgraded my review on this app a bit. I’m still giving it 4 stars so far because of the overall experience. But it’s been eating up data, and turning on airplane mode is not an option I want to use. So I have to go through the trouble of turning off data alone. Also, I’ve been using the line follow navigation instead of turn by turn because that’s the only way I can follow the route that I create. Otherwise the app tries to take me directly to the destination it seems.
Update three:Pro. Most re-installed App ever, as that is their only remedy. Labor day lost 1/2 of a 2-day trip, went to save it said 450-some miles it saved only the last 24 hours, only 250 miles. Still crashes sometimes, have lost about 1 out of 10 recent trip records due to crashing while riding or saving. Loading trip planning on the phone crashes it. Trip planning on the PC works, but can’t view road names or numbers, as they are hidden under the route lines. Still needs work. A LOT of work.
5 notifications in 1 day without using it is way too much, seems like it could be a cool app but I’ll never know. They pushed way too many notifications and I only ever opened it and clicked around a bit. Also the ui was atrocious and not very intuitive. Just give me a single option screen. Also super useful basic features were locked behind a pay wall like offline maps. I don’t ride to places with data I do the opposite. Don’t want to pay $40 guess you get to be lost in the mountains
It is terribly annoying when I shut this app down but it still runs, pops up ads and info on friends rides and other notifications FREQUENTLY… After I close it. Cannot stop it from loading on reboot. Worse, it’s a huge drain on my battery. Force stopping it improves battery use by more that 30%! Its not the only app that does this, but it’s near the top of the list of annoying AND system draining!
I have had two paid subscriptions of Rever Pro but will not be using it any more. The app is slow and glitchy and not consistent. I had been using it to track a long 4 week ride in Australia and two days prior to the end of the ride my subscription lapsed without notification and now I cannot access any of the trip I was tracking. There are a number of other apps available for this purpose which I will be trying in the future.
Terrible experience with the app. It now crashes constantly, making it impossible to use, but even before that it wasn’t very good at what it did. If I want to navigate, I can’t just put in a destination and go, I have to ‘Create A Ride’, set a start and end point, set a date in taking the ride, and publish it online. Then I have to go into my list of rides and load it to navigate. And sometimes I’ll do all that, only to find the start and end points have flipped, and it stops navigating.
Really great when it works. Quirky when it doesn’t. Navigation is solid but takes getting used to. Route planning is nice but not unique. Only real downside is losing a lot of work when planning routes because the lines started going in bizarre angles. Three stars because its an ok app that doesn’t offer anything new and useful to the table besides Butler Map integration.
EDIT. Used it for my 2000 mile trip. It still needs some work. Especially in turn by turn. Even though I had a planned route I was following, it sent me off course by 5 miles before I noticed. I want to love it because it has great features. Just needs to be cleaned up still. Still buggy and locks up.
App is pathetic. Tried the trial for one ride had to resort to google maps because turn by turn stopped working the moment my phone was closed. Tried the lock screen setting no luck. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to cancel so I don’t get stuck paying for this scam pos. I have emailed directly now to attempt cancelation. It absolutely shouldn’t be difficult to cancel a trial subscription for any legitimate product.
