Recent FLOW Mix Reviews
MAJOR FIRMWARE BUG! Great platform! I found the back button doesn’t work in MENU > EFFECTS > FX SELECT (either). The menu button doesn’t take you out of the submenu. (Workaround – change layers) The major bug – if you hold down the MENU button for more than 3 secs the entire console shuts off (crashes). The menu button stays lit until you press it again, then it reboots. Not sure if this was intended to “hard reset” the mixer, but this could be a major issue if someone does this live.
I have the same issue as Bryan Bowser. Updated the app on my Pixel 4a 5G (running Android 12) and it crashes out when trying to connect to the mixer. I tried clearing all the app data and even doing a full uninstall/reinstall, but still seeing the same issues. This phone used to connect just fine running version 1.4 of the app. For more context, I update the version of FLOW Mix that is running on my Nexus 7 to 1.5 and it is able to successfully connect to the same mixer with no issues.
1.6 update seems to have fixed the Android 12 problems. It’s a great small and portable mixer, but worried there will be more problems with the app down the line. No good if that happens on a gig! Do wish there was a model with a few more inputs as well.
Buggy. Example: when loading a preset into a 4-band channel EQ, say, “Guitar mellow”, the center frequency of all four bands gets set to 0, and they either do nothing or do things they shouldn’t. The 4th band, for example, acts in this situation like a master gain control, not like the 4th band of an EQ. Also, there’s no way to set the first and last channel EQ bands as shelving, which is something one would expect. Only peak type.
After the Firmware update it works like a dream. I bought it because of this wireless remote control functionality. I also really love that each channel can have different effects. Amazing also I can have a second Bluetooth source for music. Ignore my review further down. It was before the Firmware update and with a Nokia smart phone that would only connect Bluetooth for music but not the App. The sound through the mixer is superb. Both vocals and my electric guitar pre amp
I have a Pixel 4a phone running Android 12. The app starts up and quits. I can’t find any solution even on the incredibly slow MusicTribe help board that Behringer sends you to for soloutions. Without the app, the Flow 8 mixing board is basically useless. I remember thinking that a bluetooth controlled mixer wolud be simpler and more reliable than a Wifi controlled board – wrong! I was loving the mixing board until this problem showed up. I can’t use this equipment at a gig if the app just craps out on me.
Great app, but took ages to get it working. Notes/app should mention that LOCATION (as well as Blueooth) needs to be turned ON for Android 7, to enable BLE pairing for app. Couple of feature suggestions: – App automatically swich main display to reflect when new bus selected on hardware (main, mon, fx) – Optimise layout for screen size. Current is great for phone but on tablet there’s space to include, say, gain, mute, solo etc.
Bug when you select a preset on the mic the eq is all scrambled and set all to 0. Would be nice when you select a preset to have eq frequencies set for the instruments. Also I would like exclusive solo or a unsolo all button. Would be nice a button to bypass the eq and the comp and the possibility to change frequencies dragging the point in the eq without opening a new screen Also the possibility to select another channel by swiping left/right. nice would to be able to solo Mon 1 and Mon 2
Connects but doesn’t work well on an earlier SMT-T580 10″ tablet which is a shame. Works perfectly on a Samsung S8+ and Note 20 Ultra 5G but cuts the bottom of the routing page off so you can’t get to the very bottom ‘From PC’ USB settings
overall is good…but..please add mute on main chanel
